[Name] pressed her forehead against the door and sighed. Why did men have to be so frustrating? Well, maybe not all of them. Her lips formed a smile as she thought about Alfred. Mr. Alfred Jones, her wonderful new friend who was tall, funny, relaxed, not to mention handsome. And quite handsome at that. She snapped out of her little daydream and backed away from the burgundy door. Now all she had to do was figure out a way to pass the time.
Her eyes fell on a small stack of books sitting on a roll top desk. She still had to return those. The library wasn’t too far away, and she didn’t want the books to be overdue. Besides, the walk might cool her head.
She found a pen and stray sheet of paper, and left a note for her father, in case he returned home while she was gone. It wasn’t a long walk to the library, certainly not as far as the clock shop, and [Name] intended to enjoy the morning air.
She carefully gathered the books in her arms and set out, taking short, slow steps so she could elongate her stroll. The sun was up, shining brightly, and the neighborhood was bustling with activity. Children were running around, their nannies calling after them to behave.
[Name] kept walking, ignoring most people as she walked towards the more crowded part of town. Shops were lined up on either side of the street, casting shadows on the cobblestone. Her eyes scanned the familiar setting as she gazed in front of her.
There was the flower shop, owned by a rather eccentric Russian man who had moved with his sisters to start a new living, away from the hard farm life they had led. He specialized in sunflowers, but there were roses, bluebells, veronica and so many other types to choose from.
She passed an artist’s workshop, the scent of canvas and acrylic paint washing over her. It was the Vargas Brothers’ Art Studio. She had seen them before, from a distance, painting a lakeside view. They did everything from sculpting to portraits, and were quite good at it.
And of course, she couldn’t forget the tailor. The clothes shop sold quality garments made from the finest materials that were imported straight from Paris, France. The dresses were elegant and the shop itself was so…romantic. The walls, the smell, everything was lovely.
[Name] walked by, wishing she could linger in the doorway and stare at all the pretty hats and bonnets that were on display. But she had to get to the library, maybe she’d stop on her way back just to see what was there. Maybe.
She continued, being able to see the library in the distance. It was a large building, filled to the brim with shelves and shelves of books. There were so many to choose from. And there were just as many genres. [Name] rather liked the fairytales. They were sometimes sweet, and taught life lessons in unique ways.
[Name] pushed the door to the library open and smiled. There was a specific ‘book’ scent that enveloped her. The leather, the paper, even the wood had a captivating aroma. She walked into the library, her footsteps echoing in the silent lobby. She glanced over at the counter to her left where a familiar face was standing.
She and Matthew were acquaintances, having been introduced at a formal evening party a few years before. He was a shy man, only a few months older than her, and he was thoughtful. Whenever she saw him he was always doing things to make others happy.
“Good morning,” she greeted as she set her books on the table, “I’ve come to return these.”
The young man smiled at her. “Oh hello again ma’am,” he replied as he opened one of the books to sign the back as proof it was returned. “Did you enjoy them?”
[Name] nodded. “Yes, just like always. Your recommendations are never boring.” She sighed a bit. “And speaking of recommendations, do you have any? I want to read a bit more to take my mind off…certain things.”
The librarian hummed a bit, a pondering expression crossing his face. “Well,” he said, “Have you ever read Oliver Twist? It’s by Charles Dickens, and it’s quite good.”
[Name] tilted her head, “Is he the one who wrote The Pickwick Papers? I think Father’s read it…”
“That’s the one,” Matthew nodded, “Anyway; I think you’d like Oliver Twist. It’s about an orphan who finds himself sold into an unexpected apprenticeship.”
It sounded intriguing to [Name], and she didn’t have anything else to read. “It certainly seems like it’d be an interesting book.”
Matthew smiled, “It is. Would you like me to get it for you?”
“Yes please and…may I come with you? Just in case I see another book I’d like on the way.”
“Of course,” Matthew’s smile broadened, if that was even possible. [Name] stared fondly at the male for a moment. He was always so eager to help out; it was an award-winning quality. “Follow me [Na]- I mean ma’am.” A blush formed on his face.
[Name] couldn’t help but laugh at this, her laugh was quiet, but there nonetheless, “Go ahead, call me [Name] I mean, we have known each other for three years.”
“F-Four, actually,” Matthew corrected, sheepishly fiddling with his glasses, “It was your fifteenth birthday, remember?”
Did she remember? [Name] didn’t know, and it touched her to see how closely Matthew had paid attention to that small detail. She just gave him an acknowledging nod. “I suppose it was,” she smiled at him.
Matthew led her deeper into the library, passing shelf after shelf after shelf, until finally they found themselves in the back of the building, near where the staff area was. [Name] coughed, the air around her being thick and dusty.
“Sorry about the unkemptness,” he mumbled, swinging the staff door open, “No one really comes down here so it isn’t usually cleaned.”
“That’s quite alright,” [Name] cleared her throat, “It is a large library so keeping it in such a nice condition must be hard already.”
Matthew’s face became a bit red, “A-A bit…But that’s not what we’re here for! Follow me [Name].”
[Name] followed him into the room, giving him a grateful nod as he held the door for her. If there ever was a sweeter and more polite man than Matthew, [Name] would court him in a heartbeat. Her friend, as she liked to think of him, always smiled at everyone, and never raised his voice, even when some rather rude children ran around yelling and shouting in the library. That was a quality [Name] admired in him; patience. She had, however, noticed his inability to say no to people, and he was almost too nice at times. [Name] wondered if she could help him with that; maybe make him a bit more courageous.
“I’m sure the book is here somewhere,” Matthew mumbled as he rummaged through a crate with the words ‘New Shipments’ painted on the side in red.
“Are you positive it’s not on one of the shelves?” [Name] asked, brushing some leftover dust off her dress.
Matthew shook his head, “Oh no, we just got it last week and I was sav—” he hesitated, “I just didn’t shelve it I suppose.”
[Name] raised her eyebrow. The blond was a terrible liar, but she decided to play along, just this once. “Well, alright,” she walked over to him, carefully taking books out of the crate, “Perhaps I could help you locate it?”
He nodded and did the same, glancing at covers and reading the titles before setting them aside. The two searched the crate until they reached the bottom with no success.
“Maybe it’s in one of the other ones,” [Name] suggested, rising to her feet. She could see the disappointed look on Matthew’s face, and she wished she could just magically summon the book to cheer him up. She’d do anything to earn a smile from the boy.
“Hopefully,” Matthew agreed. “Here, there are some more places we can look.” He gestured to a stack of crates which were strewn in the corner of the office.
[Name] started to walk towards the unopened boxes, but she didn’t notice a stray book lying on the ground in front of her. An unladylike yelp erupted from her throat as she slipped and landed harshly on her back.

Smiling, you walked over to one of your friends, Elizabeta. She was at the entrance of the music room where her boyfriend, Roderick was playing the piano. The reason you were meeting Elizabeta and her boyfriend was because Roderick had a little brother.
And lucky for you! You babysit for money and it made you feel real good that Elizabeta would recommend you to her boyfriend. Walking in, you quickly noticed how sophisticated Roderick looked.
“Roderick! It’s (F/n)! My friend I told you about who will take care of Ludwig.”Elizabeta smiled.
“Well, it nice to finally meet you, (F/n). I heard so much about you.”Roderick shaked your hand.
“I would love to care of Ludwig.”
“And you will. Starting tomorrow after school, we’ll meet. $10 an hour, will that be alright?”Roderick asked.
“Uh…y-yes! That’ll be perfect! Thank you so much.”You smiled and ran out

Sitting in your usual period 2 class, you waited patiently for your crush to arrive. He was always arrives a bit later than you but then again you always make it early. Minding your own business, you glance at his seat next to yours. When you first met him you didn’t realize you would end up developing a crush on him.
He was good looking, you’ll give him that but for the most part you minded your own business until he started talking to you. He was really popular at school and with the girls. He rolled with the Awesome Trio. Alfred, Gilbert, and Mathias walked the halls basically owning the school. Every girl has a crush on at least one of them.
Mathias just so happened to end up sitting next to you and you didn’t really care since at the time you found Alfred, the football player pretty cute. But then Mathias came in and he was smokin’. At least that’s how your friends always put it. When you heard the door

“Oh my god! I can’t believe it’s your big day!”Your Mother jumped as she held the camera.
“Mom, please no more photos,”You asked politely, your cheeks turning pink.
“But you’re getting married! Don’t you want to remember this forever?”She tilted her head.
Smiling softly, you look at the mirror in front of you. Currently you were in a small room, hidden away from the rest of the guests. Letting out a heavy sigh, the corset, luckily didn’t restrict your breathing too badly. Staring at yourself, you study the clean bright white that you wore. The dress wasn’t too tight and fluffed out just right. It was beautiful, with a nice lace trim at the end and with a slight train. The floral design going up on the lace and stopping at your waist. You didn’t sleep much better than you had in past nights, but you woke up nonetheless and proceeded throughout your day. Dressing, breakfast, chatting with Alfred until he was swept up by some more energetic men (including a knight with golden hair that seemed to stand on end who had conquered his way to the title of Baron and was now one of Alfred’s closest consorts, according to a Marquis who ruled the lands north of the knight). After that, you wandered through the gardens in the hopes of finding something more interesting than sitting around.
‘Something more interesting’ came in the form of a rather tall woman talking and laughing with the Lord (Free Lord, according to Frederick-- apparently the two titles were different, though you weren’t sure how) named Ludwig who so startled you. Now he seemed perfectly harmless. His deep, resounding laugh fell pleasantly on your ears and her sharp tongue was quick with a

Day Two - Hilarity Ensues ( Hey that rhymes! Part Deux! )
Quick recap of last time, well I went to shoppers drugstore and fought some middle aged woman. Almost had to go to another shoppers until Matthew saved my ass by filling the restock. Found out we went to the same exact school; but we never really noticed each other. And now the day is new and now we're at birchmount collegiate school (basically a fancy way of saying high school) and today another chapter of my life turns. For the worst? No, but let's just say it's some freaky-Friday esque shit. Now let's skip the pleasantries and let's go.
"Ugh I freaking hate high-school why can't I be like Steve jobs and be a genius; life would be so much easier" I complain as I walk towards my bus stop where a group of kids who resided in my area were standing.
Just as I was continuing my mini-rant to myself of course; si

Scrunching your face, you groaned to hear your phone ring for the tenth time. Who in the world is calling you so early in the morning on a weekend!? That’s sick! With messy hair, you slam your hand over your phone and place it to your ear, not even checking who it was. Clearing your throat, you heard Mel talking to you quickly. She was the H.I.T. you told Alfred about the other day. Except you didn’t really want to think of Alfred today. Or ever hopefully.
“Mel, slow down.”You got up from bed.
“Did you reveal your identity?”She asked nervously.
“N-No…why would I do that?”You now felt fully awake. What’s going on?
“Okay, don’t panic but somehow the paparazzi got a hold of that information.”Mel got quiet towards the end.
“And you expect me not to panic!?”You screamed.
“Well I’m sorry! But reporters are trying hard to find your human home and so are villains.

I’m already quite popular at school but after helping (F/n) out yesterday while she was Miss Mind, my phone was blowing up! Everyone wanted to talk to me about what happened. So many questions and I just felt like a star. I’m not even a super human so that just made things cooler. As I walked into school, people automatically looked at me and began talking to their friends about me. Showing the news clips on how I put Metal Scraper into a nice and tight choke hold. It’s not like I was going to let him hurt an unaware Miss Mind. No way.
Right when I finish that thought up, someone taps my shoulder and I turn around to see (F/n) looking up at me with a small smile. She’s still very salty about what happened but if it weren’t for me she would have been hit. And my ego probably wouldn’t have grown so much. Wrapping my arm around her shoulder, I bring her close to me as we walk through the sch

“My love?” Arthur called, his voice soft, gentle. In the quietness of the night, of the darkness and the desolate cottage, he crept with ease up to where you were; where you rested, unaware of the measures he took to keep his maiden safe. “(Y/n)?” He whispered, seeing you lay where he laid during his first few days here. You were nestled into the sheets where the captain once slept.
He sat beside you, removing his hat and placing it on the bedpost above your head. He felt your shoulder, how smooth your skin was. “My dove?”
You brought your hands to his one upon your shoulder, clasping it, feeling his warmth and the adrenaline in his fingers. “Are they gone?” You whispered back, your voice faint.
At his nod, you visibly relaxed. He knelt his head to yours and placed a kiss on your forehead. Your features, your figure, looked so serene in the moonlight that lazily drifted in through the

Everything has been fine the last few hours. Surprisingly enough the world hasn’t ended. Though that doesn’t mean Alfred hasn’t stopped being a complete and utter fanboy. Ever since he forced it out of you that you’re Miss Mind he’s been asking way too many questions. It’s not exactly his fault since you understand all his excitement. He’s finally met his idol and knows her real true self. You didn’t want him to find out this way. Or any way, let’s be real. The only way a normal human can know a super human is a hero is if they’re married and the human would have to be heavily watched. So many security cameras and spies on them. And if they get a divorce, brain wash them to forget it. Apparently, it’s the only way.
“So Infinity is the leader?”Alfred asked you as the two of you walked to your house.

Contest WinnersHello everybody! As you probably already know, today is October 3rd which means no more entries can be entered. I spent my time thinking on who wins 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and I really do believe they earned this from how much I liked what they created. They definitely deserve praise Now remember, if you entered in the contest and didn't win anything, please don't be angry with who I chose. I thank all of you for entering and now...time for the fanfiction winners! But also fair warning that I'm not used to judging so XD I'm probably just going to sound like a fangirl. This is very important - please readHi everyone,
So I have noticed that we have had some issues with the folders recently, so I went through the settings and now, you should be able to submit works to any folder. Also, I want to sincerely apologize for the inactivity from this group. As some of you may know, I have 'left' deviantart (hold it right there, I'll explain myself.) I haven't in a sense, really left. I'm just not uploading deviations on a regular basis and honestly the drama surrounding CORE etc was getting too much for me. I am stil active here so, I can manage the groups I am in charge of. The other reason for inactivity is that I am a full-time student, and I am a self-described "work-aholic". My main focus will be school, but that doesn't make up for the neglect. So, don't worry, this group isn't dead! I promise that in the future, I will be more active to carry out my duties. Thanks for understanding and for reading. And I hope you are having a great day/night.

“[Name]!” Matthew shouted coming to her aid, but freezing in place when he saw her position.
[Name] observed the silence and her face heated up. The tumble had caused her dress to fold over, revealing her pantalets. It was humiliating. Not just because he had seen her undergarments, but he had found out she wore pantalets. Those things were for girls for goodness sake, and she was nineteen; a young woman, wearing something as childish as that. Of course, she knew there were others older than her who still did wear the garment, but they did it out of habit. It wasn’t fashionable for more modern ladies to wear the cloth.
She scrambled to her feet, trying to hide her embarrassing garment. “S-Sorry,” she managed to stutter. “It wasn’t my intention for that to happen.”
Matthew’s face suddenly grew as red as the burning sunset. “N-No…I should’ve made sure there w-were no stray books. Are you alright?” His stutter had gotten worse, probably since he had witnessed something so awkward.
[Name] brushed off her dress and stared at the ground. Her cheeks were burning from the situation, and she wished she could hide away in some discreet corner of the library. “I’m fine, thank you… Let’s focus on finding the book.” She swallowed and made her way, carefully, to the crates she had been aiming for.
Matthew trailed behind her, averting his gaze from the woman. His ears were red as a beet. “Maybe we should take a break…you probably have things to do anyway. I’ll find the book and have it sent to you later, if you’d like.”
[Name] smiled at his offer. He was such a sweet man, willing to do anything for anyone, or at least she thought. It just occurred to her that maybe he only gave her the special treatment; certainly he did not…but the idea flattered her anyway. She appreciated her friend, if she could call him that, indeed, the man was kind hearted and considerate, which reminded her of Arthur. He too seemed to possess those qualities but he showed them in different forms. Matthew’s kindness was pure and upfront while Arthur’s was distorted by pride and wealth.
“[Name]?” Matthew’s sweet voice broke her out of her trance. “You didn’t hit your head did you? Maybe you should call a doctor…”
“Oh no, no,” [Name] replied hastily, waving her hand. “I was just thinking about some matters at hand. You are right though, I probably should continue on my way. Are you sure you’ll be able to manage finding the book on your own? I feel terrible just leaving you to do it by yourself.”
He laughed in response, “It’s perfectly fine, don’t let me keep you from doing what you must. Shall I see you to the door?” The blond bowed and offered her his arm.
[Name] tucked a loose strand of hair from her face and placed her hand on the other’s arm, a small smile adorning her lips. “Why thank you, I would appreciate that very much.”
The two of them walked together until they reached the entrance of the library. With the slightest flourish, Matthew bowed graciously. “Until next time [Name],” he whispered.
The woman curtsied in return and pushed open the tall door, heading back into the warm sunlight. Her eyes shone as she began to head back home, pausing in front of the tailor’s shop. There was a rather attractive looking hat sitting on display, and it seemed to call to her. It was a dark cream with a single blue ribbon wrapped around the base. The hat itself was plain, but pretty, and she was tempted to try it on. No, not tempted, she had already stepped inside the shop for the tinkling bell rang in her ears.
It was too late for her to leave now. She tiptoed around the store, looking at what was there, all the while glancing at the hat in the front of the shop.
“Ah, I see you have taken interest in the pride of my shop,” a thickly accented voice broke [Name’s daydreaming.
“O-Oh, pardon me sir. I cannot help but be…taken by the care that must’ve been taken in sewing such a masterpiece. It’s quite a handsome hat.” [Name] could feel a blush come to her face as she spoke. She hadn’t meant to stare so intently at the hat. She had simply gotten caught up and perhaps even a little entranced by the beauty of it.
“Well, if mademoiselle enjoys it so must then she must have it.” The man smiled warmly at her, his dark blue eyes twinkling with a certain charm in them. He leaned past her and took the hat off the mannequin on which it rested. “Here, do try it on.”
“Oh no,” [Name] gently pushed the hat back towards him, her rosy lips forming into the smallest of smiles. “I could only ever dream to afford something as elegant as that.”
“Nonsense,” the man removed the price tag and slipped it into his pocket. “Take it as a gift. Such a woman as beautiful as yourself deserves the most gorgeous of accessories. Please, I insist. At least try it on.”
His words of flattery softened [Name]’s heart. Perhaps trying it on wouldn’t do any harm. What was the trouble with simply placing a hat upon one’s head? With reluctance in her face but excitement in her heart, she took the hat from the shop owner and allowed him to guide her to a mirror in the corner of the shop.
The mirror was illuminated with sweet smelling candles and embellished with faux flowers and an assortment sequins. It truly was a handsome sight, especially when it revealed the reflections of both [Name] and the kind man behind her.
“Allow me,” the man offered, taking the hat delicately from [Name]’s hands and carefully placing it upon her head. “Viola.” He smiled warmly and tucked a few strands of hair out of [Name]’s face, after which he gingerly inserted a hat pin to hold the gorgeous accessory in place.
“It’s…It’s lovely.” [Name] breathed, her eyes filled with wonder at the sight. Never before had a hat made her swell with so much joy. There had to have been something about it, or the maker for that matter. She decided to inquire about it.
“Now sir, where does such a fine hat come from? Surely you must’ve acquired it in Paris or London.”
The man only chuckled. “It flatters me to hear you speak of my creation so highly. Although I cannot say that this piece of work is noble enough for either of those cities, I was trained in Paris by one much greater than I will ever be.”
“To create something greater than this-pardon my unorthodox expression-one would have to use threads woven from sun beams and angel hairs.” [Name] touched the edges of the hat and turned her head to observe how the piece framed her face.
“Thank you but your praise it misplaced, for even if my skill is prestigious, my manners lack exceedingly. I believe I have failed to introduce myself to such a fine lady.” The man bowed elegantly and brought [Name]’s hand to his lips. “I am Francis Bonnefoy, the owner of this modest shop. And you are?”
[Name] curtsied and told him her name as well as her father’s. “It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr. Bonnefoy, but I must be taking my leave now.”
Francis smiled knowingly but stopped her when she attempted to remove the hat. “Please, keep it Miss [l/n]. It looks much better on you than it does sitting in the shop window gathering dust. At least by wearing it you’d be doing the street a favor.”
Another blush formed almost independently on [Name]’s cheek. Mr. Bonnefoy truly had a way with pretty words and flattery. And yet taking a hat free of cost would leave her feeling as if she had swindled the kind man in some way. “I accept your exceedingly generous offer, but please allow me to do something in return. Perhaps I could pay for part of the hat…” She trailed off.
“I think that being in your presence is payment enough. Would you join me for tea say, Thursday afternoon?” A smirk formed on Francis’ face, and his eyes seemed to challenge [Name], daring her to accept.
[Name] thought for a moment and gave him a smirk of her own. “I think that would be lovely, although I hope you don’t mind if my father accompanies me, for having tea alone with strange men is sure to spark some rumors.”
Francis was silent, almost shocked, but he regained his bearings quickly and smiled. “I would be honored to have him and any other you would like to invite. I assure you there is no lack of food or desire for company.”
[Name] practically beamed at the man. “I thank you for your most gracious invitation, and for the hat.”
“You are most welcome Miss [l/n]. I hope to see you Thursday.” Francis smiled and walked [Name] to the door. “Have a lovely afternoon.”
With that the two of them parted ways, leaving [Name] to ponder on the day’s events as she returned home.
